Collided with and sank the sulphur carrier Marine Duval in the Neches River, Texas, in January 1979. During repairs, the bulbous bow was removed and not replaced.
After trading internationally for 10 years, the vessel began lightering VLCCs in the Gulf of Mexico and was remeasured for that purpose to 44,995 SDWT in 1978.
