Incidents

In 1974, she was struck by Polyglory in the River Seine, France, while sailing outbound from Gravenchon. Polyglory made impact around number four tank; her bow slid down the side of Mobil Lubchem demolishing her starboard bridge wing and the master's day room. There were no casualties. The vessel returned to Gravenchon, discharged her cargo then proceeded to Le Havre on the north coast of France for repairs.
In 1991, Captain Lance Ball, Lubchem's master since 1973, received an MBE from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for services to shipping.
